Description

In Apricot Dumplings Kelly Phillips uncovers the mystery of a family death on a contentious, once-in-a-lifetime mother/daughter visit to the homeland. This short graphic memoir is an Austrian travelogue that explores the nature of family connections, how easy it is to revert to acting like a child while traveling with your mom, and how the Alps never get old.

Kelly combines comics panels with accurate drawings of stunning mountains and architecture, maps documenting travel, and contemporaneous notes she took on the trip. All of these mixed together create a clear and immediate feel of traveling with a loved one who can sometimes get on your nerves!
