Description
On December 28, 1956, teenaged sisters, Barbara and Patricia Grimes disappeared on the south side of Chicago. Â 25 days later their bodies were found 20 miles away in Willow Springs, Illinois. Â The Grimes Sisters Murders by Jaclyn Miller is a chronicling of the mystery surrounding their disappearance and deaths.
Taken from research on the many contradictory accounts on the grisly unsolved crime, Jaclyn’s story is effective in evoking the sickening dread of their panicked mother, and the uneasy speculation of a public who at the time were both frightened and obsessed with this story.  Nothing new is unearthed, and it’s a pretty fast read, but Jaclyn’s simple, cute drawing style mixed with the gravity of the situation makes for a very creepy comic.
