Description
Marnie Galloway’s The Assassin’s Élan is a pretty straight forward zine. It contains portraits of the hair of the four United States Presidents who have been assassinated (Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, and Kennedy), and the hair of their assassins (Booth, Guiteau, Czolgosz, and Oswald respectively) on facing pages. Marnie adds a flourish of humor by naming each hairstyle (like Czolgosz’s “Buffalo Shuffle,” named for the city in which he killed McKinley).
If you’re like me, and you are kind of a Presidential history nerd and a sucker for anything having to do with the presidential line of succession, I feel sorry for your loved ones. BUT! I would encourage you to pick this little zine up to add to what I’m sure is an interesting collection of books and ephemera.
