Description

In Sleeper Train, Ann Xu tells the story of a child who is forced to leave the home she knows and loves in order to stay with her mother. Feifei and her mother live with Feifei’s grandparents, and the arrangement is a rocky one, with her mother and grandfather clashing regularly. For some reason, tonight is different, and Feifei’s mother decides they are leaving their rural home for the big city, and so Feifei finds herself in a sleeper car of a train heading to Beijing.

Exuding with reserved emotions, Sleeper Train revolves around Feifei’s role as silent supporter of her mother. While she does not want to leave, and is heartbroken to say goodbye to her home, Feifei puts her own feelings aside in the hopes that her mother will finally find happiness.
