Description
In Matthew Melis’ She Always Looked Good in Hats, Alice recently graduated with a PhD in geology, but is having trouble finding a job in her field. On a whim, Alice answers a job posting for a kiosk in a shopping mall that sells hats. In what should be a dead-end job, Alice starts to find something meaningful she can put her heart into.
Matthew’s naturalistic story, dialogue, and cartooning bring the life of 30-something Alice and her friends and family to life. Small moments, memories, and conversations provide this short story with a beautiful depth.
