Description
What a strange little zine! This accordian-fold zine features odd and humorous drawings: a cowboy playing guitar infront of a wall of constellations, surrounded by empty tin cans, a couple of sweethearts holding hands in a diner booth. Above each drawing is a small flap, that when lifted, reveals a smaller drawing, that seems to reveal the sensation the characters are feeling, above the cowboy (through swinging saloon doors) is a galloping horse, above the couple are two swans eminating the platonic sense of true love.
In this reading, the big drawings illustrate how little it is, and the little drawings illustrate how big it feels.
Each of Danielle O’Malley ‘s drawings is so full of detail, and so idiosycratically strange, that you could have as many interpretations of this zine, as times you pick it up. And it encourages you to pick it up, play with its accordian structure, open its secret doors, and investigate every hiddent gem in each drawing.
