Lawrence Lindell’s For Black Child With Love follows the same format as Lawrence’s previous title, From Black Boy With Love. Page after page are clear messages of love and celebration of Black children.

What is unspoken is why a book like this is needed—that racist ideas are instilled into children from an early age, through adult’s actions and words. Lawrence’s drawings and words are a beacon to Black children, encouraging them to claim their right to be themselves, and not what others project onto them.
