Description
Drift is a meandering poetic dive into the mind of Penina Gal. Never quite spelling out all the things this comic is about, Penina brings up Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder early on, and points out how it is only a problem under a capitalist system. The comic tries to illustrate what it feels like to have ADHD, and methods of treatment, both in the form of medicine and self-care.
Drift’s structure is inventive, using new methods to talk about wellness and struggle. Each page of drift is a four-panel grid, but a lot of the imagery takes place outside of the panels. Penina’s spare imagery allows our minds to conjure a lot of the imagery we see while reading this comic, allowing even for our minds to wander.
