Description

Marian Runk has many loved ones for which she uses the term “best friend.” Like many of us, though, when Marian was a child, the title of best friend was a much more protected and singular designation. The comic, Best Friends, tells the story of an intense friendship, that like so many early ones, lose their strength without warning.

Through soft warm watercolor, Marian evokes a sense of memory, as she follows her own. It’s an honest and moving look at an awkward time in the author’s life, as she understands friendship and romance.
