Description

This issue of the Chronicles of Fortune has the most recognizable plot-line of them all.  Having had quit her job (see issue #8, Happiness Machines), Edith-May needs to impersonate her late mother in order to get money trapped in a series of unsigned traveller checks. But her actions do not lack consequences to both her latent grief over her mother’s death, or her person.

Ghost Treasures’ mood shifts several times throughout the comic.  It is a somber story about confronting the specter of loss that Edith-May has been keeping at bay (a job for her all-powerful alter-ego Fortuna). It’s also a goofy bank heist comic, with step-by-step instructions on how to impersonate an old lady, and a dance party. Coco deftly tells these two stories at the same time with really fantastic results!
