I am pleased as punch to launch my new minicomics distro, Radiator Comics. It’s my hope that while exploring the site you’ll find some amazing comics you’re excited to read. Be sure to check back often, as comics and artists will be added weekly.
This project has been in the works for several years, and I’m terribly indebted to friends, family, peers and heroes for helping me along the way. Radiator Comics would not exist without the assistance of some very important people. I’d like to take a moment and thank them.
First, the site was designed by Kenan Rubenstein, and since it is the distro’s primary vehicle, Kenan’s influence on Radiator Comics can’t be overstated. He’s been a partner in the project for about a year, and a partner in comics crime with me for much longer. Not only is Kenan a killer with code, he’s also one of my favorite comics artists. You can check out his work, he’s featured at the top of the site as this week’s artist spotlight. He’s also been working on a big project that should be dropping soon, so be on the look out for that!
I received guidance from Gay Johnson at SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), the folks at Loyola Business Law Clinic, John Porcellino from Spit and a Half, JT Yost from Birdcage Bottom Books, and Heather from Stranger Danger Distro. I also got tons of feedback from my friends, family, Liz and Eric from Quimby’s Bookstore, and Terry from Third Coast Comics, and from the comics artists distributed by Radiator Comics.
Aaron Renier designed the Radiator Comics logo, Cara Bean designed promotional postcards, and Matt Davis from Perfectly Acceptable Risography printed up bookmarks and the postcard.
If you’ve got any questions, comments, complaints, left over cookies from a recent party, or anything else you’d like to talk to me about, please get in touch! Thanks so much, and have fun exploring Radiator Comics!
The photo at the top of this post is of the first order placed through Radiator Comics! The comics in that order were (from left to right) Viewotron No. 2 by Sam Sharpe, Changers Book 1 by Ezra Claytan Daniels, and Chronicles of Fortune No’s 3 & 9 by Caroline Picard.
